The Cost of Clutter
Ultimately, these statistics are evidence of what we all understand on a deeper level. Our belongings, if not managed, can become the source of our discontentment. In order to experience our best lives, we need space.
Space to relax, play, think, rest, eat, recover and so much more. If your clutter is eating up the space you need to live in, it is time to act now. There is a major cost to waiting. It could cost you your health, your relationships, your precious time, and your hard earned money. The cost of being disorganized is more than anyone should pay. Let’s get to work!

What is Organizing?
The definition of organizing is to arrange into a structured whole; order. When you hire a professional home organizer, you are asking them to restructure your items in a manner that produces order.
Organizing is often coupled with acquiring containers and labels that help present a more orderly and cohesive space. Organizing is for the busy professionals and families that feel like they are always looking for their beloved household items. As an organizer, I like to get boots on the ground in the homes of my clients as soon as possible.
My clients often say to me, “I will be ready for your services as soon as I buy the right products”. This couldn’t be further from the truth in my opinion. In fact, it is through the process of organizing that I am able to determine what products might be useful in the space, and more importantly, what products you already have!
Yes, you have so many products that you never had the chance to properly utilize. That is okay. My job is to help you do that.
What is Decluttering?
Decluttering is defined as removing unnecessary items from (an untidy or overcrowded place). The underlying assumption when decluttering is that not every item in a person's home adds value to that person's life.
Decluttering is the process of filtering through household items and making tough decisions about what is worth keeping and what would be more helpful if it were no longer ours. This is a deeply emotional process. As humans, we have an affinity to collect things throughout life. We derive meaning from them; associating our fondest memories with them, keeping them just in case someone we know needs it, and acquiring them to prove our worthiness.
We all have our patterns and reasons for collecting, but sometimes we end up in a runaway feedback loop that makes us feel like we are drowning. We buy more to feel better, but eventually feel worse when we can’t sort through all the stuff.
I can declutter with you. I cannot declutter for you. We have to work hand in hand to attack the clutter and regain your joy. This is why decluttering coaching is a perfect service to carry out virtually. I am here to listen, offer encouragement, and guide you to a less cluttered home.

About Your Organizer
My name is Yasmeen Chevalier and I am a wife and a mother to one beautiful 2 year old girl named Sophie (our company’s namesake). I started Sophie’s Closet out of a unique combination of necessity and passion.
As a new mother, I struggled with keeping a tidy home that was relaxing and comfortable while bonding with my newborn baby girl. I found myself asking my husband for a few hours just to organize my home. It was then that I found that organizing a space was a deeply rewarding process that left me with an unmatched sense of calm.
My purpose is to share that sense of calm with my clients. A busy family should be spending time making the memories that will last a lifetime and that should not mean your home goes neglected. I have a Bachelor’s of Science in Business Administration from Oglethorpe University and am a Professional Member with the National Association of Productivity and Organizing Professionals (NAPO). More importantly, I have worked with tons of clients just like you and they keep bringing me back to help them get organized and declutter.
